The positions are at the rank of assistant professor, but
exceptionally qualified candidates with distinguished
records of research, teaching, and leadership will be
considered for a more senior rank. The department recently
developed a strategic plan in response to continuing changes
in all aspects of aerospace engineering, and in anticipation
of future developments and opportunities. As part of this
plan, the department is building strength in the
multidisciplinary areas of aircraft systems, space systems,
and energy systems, while continuing to pursue basic
research in the areas of fundamental importance to
aeronautics and astronautics. For additional information
