Regional Office located in the Chicago area to carry out The
HSUS's national and state agenda within the states of
Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.
Responsibilities include managing a staff of approximately
SSIIXX, and motivating and coaching them to carry out state
duties. Conduct lobbying and meeting activities with
legislators and governmental offices, provide legislative
testimony, and attend legislative hearings. Establish and
build upon professional working relationships with
government agencies. Serve on government appointed
committees dealing with farm animals, wildlife, companion
animals, and other HSUS interests. Work with campaigns
section on major campaigns seen as priorities for assigned
states. Implement disaster plans. Promote and coordinate
emergency and disaster response teams and/or coalitions for
assigned states. Initiate and respond to media requests
relating to legislation, cruelty, and other animal
protection issues in concert with HSUS public relations
