Journal of the American ... ARCE is looking for a
permanent editor for JARCE. The qualified applicant would
have the following responsibilities: Solicits scholarly
articles in the areas of Egyptian studies ranging from
pre-history to modern times Handles all interaction between
contributors and ARCE Establishes a review board of
appropriate scholars, as desirable, to vet articles and sees
that articles are vetted in a timely manner Edits and proofs
all approved articles Works with the publisher, Eisenbrauns,
Inc., to see volumes through the publication process in a
timely manner Maintains a firm production schedule/timetable
so that JARCE is, once again, being published annually
Ideally, the applicant should have a suitable terminal
degree in Egyptology and have an appreciation of ARCE’s
other areas of scholarly interest including Coptic studies,
Islamic studies, and conservation. In addition, preference
