Ph.D. degree in Clay Mineralogy, Geology, or closely related
field with strong background and experience in Analytical
Chemistry along with at least 3 years experience in the
supervision of technical staff. The principal
responsibilities will be fundamental and applied research
concerning the chemistry and mineralogy of kaolin as they
relate to resource (crude kaolin) utilization, mine planning
& development, and process development & improvement.
Additional responsibilities will be analytical method
development and problem solving including communications
with internal and external customers. Expertise in the
application of statistics, demonstrated interpersonal
skills, and commitment to staff development are required.
Experience with a broad range of laboratory instruments
(exXex-ray diffraction, electron and optical microscopy,
thermal analysis, surface area, porosimetry, particle size,
FTIR, chemical analysis, chromatography, etc.) and knowledge
of Laboratory Information Management Systems are desirable.
This position is located in Sandersville, Georgia and
