60% of work time to be spent at the telescope on the summit
of Mauna Kea in Hawaii; the remaining work time will be
spent at the base facility in Hilo, Hawaii. Must pass high
altitude physical and possess clean driving record with
experience driving 4WD. Preferred Requirements: Minimum
requirements as listed above, plus five years experience in
analysis, design, construction, and maintenance of
mechanical systems as well as knowledge of refrigeration
systems, fluid flow, heat transfer, structural analysis and
design, machine shop practice, plumbing and wiring
practices, and precision structural assembly techniques.
