degree in Microbiology, Virology, Bacteriology, or in
related field; five years experience in safety engineering,
industrial hygiene, or other related field; or Bachelor’s
degree in related field; five years experience in management
and regulatory compliance associated with biohazardous
materials and chemicals; computer literacy in database
systems, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and
internet access functions; familiarity with plant and animal
pathogens and toxins and recombinant gene technology;
ability to meet CDC and DOJ requirements as a Responsible
Facility Official with access to select agents; must
successfully pass background check as required in accordance
with Select Agent Regulations; 24 hour Hazwoper training
needed and ability to wear a respirator. Preferred: Ph.D;
Board certification from ABSA desirable; experience in
medical or academic institutions as a Biological Safety
