The OONNEE year program also includes basic research in our
endocrine surgery laboratory. The clinical fellowship is
split 50-50 between the endocrine service at Rush University
Medical Center and John H. Stroger, Jr. Cook County
Hospital. The clinical service at present does over 200
thyroidectomies, 120 parathyroidectomies and 25
adrenalectomies. Extensive experience is available in
laparoscopic adrenalectomy and pancreatectomy, office
ultrasound for thyroid and parathyroid disease and
intraoperative sestamibi scanning with parathyroid hormone
monitoring. Supervised experience provides the fellow
primary surgical responsibility and an opportunity for
firsthand patient care in the management of complex thyroid,
parathyroid, adrenal and pancreatic disease. Faculty members
