24 Firefighter (Medic or Paramedic Certification), James
City County SALARY: $37,467 or higher DOQ. Seeking
entry-level and experienced candidates to be responsible for
technical emergency medical service work. Work involves
responding to a variety of injuries or life threatening
situations, and fire prevention and suppression. Applicants
should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, have a
valid Virginia driver’s license with an acceptable
driving record, and be physically able to perform strenuous
work. Must possess the following certifications: EMT-I or
EMT-P by the Virginia Office of EMS and be in good standing;
ACLS, Pediatric Care (PALS, PPEC), Trauma Care (BTLS or
PHTLS, or approved equivalents. Successful completion of the
Tidewater Regional Fire Academy or an equivalent agency is
helpful, but not necessary; incumbents eligible for a 5
percent salary increase upon completion. To be considered,
