business hours. Conduct field assessments during a disaster,
or oversee such an assessment by other HSUS staff, to
determine when HSUS should respond. Act as disaster liaison
to regional offices, other animal groups, relief agencies,
and government/private corporations. Represent HSUS at
disaster meetings, workshops, and conferences. Coordinate
all disaster workshops given by HSUS and participate as
necessary. Organize a training program that HSUS can offer
to individuals and other organizations, and promote disaster
preparedness and relief planning for animals. Oversee
ongoing implementation of such training. Present training
program throughout the country. Respond to inquiries from
members and constituents; deal with difficult individuals
and controversial situations. Prepare draft annual disaster
program budget and submit to Vice President of Field
Services. Oversee and monitor budget expenditures. Write
