Advanced search "operators" to search for jobs better

Once you know the basics of Jobasto search, you might want to try advanced search operators, which offers numerous options for making your searches more precise and getting more useful results.

Jobasto allows a number of advanced operators to construct keyword queries and phrases. The following operators allow you to build phrases, and include or exclude specific terms or phrases in your query:

Operator(s)

Example

Description

+, AND + developer Results must include the term "developer". You can create a query by stringing along a sequence of terms. For example, +java +developer will find results that include both the term "java" and the term "developer". Jobasto use the + operator by default.

" "

"design engineer"

Results will contain the phrase " design engineer " in any of the searchable fields.

( )

(design engineer)

Results will contain either the term "design" or the term "engineer ". Putting multiple terms in parentheses is equivalent to using the Boolean or between single terms.

+

+design

Results must include the term "design". You can create a more complex query by stringing along a sequence of terms. For example, "+design +engineer" will find results that include both the term "design" and the term "engineer". Using the + character is equivalent to using the Boolean and between single terms. By default, Careerbuilder.com assumes the use of the + operator.

-

"health care" -nurses

Results will include pages with information on "health care" excluding the term "nurses". Using the - character is equivalent to using the Boolean andnot between single terms.

I have done a search and brought back 0 results.
Check that you have used the correct Boolean string for searching.
For example
Sales manager and recruitment or recruit=
"Sales manager" AND Recruitment OR Recruit

Without the correct Boolean, all searches will bring back 0 results.
